Web directory submission is extremely important for any site or blog, since submission to directories get you backlinks which consequentially improves your search engine rank and PR. A lot of the directories are free to submit to, and you should take full advantage of them. There are a lot of directories above PR4 and 5, where you can submit quite easily for free.
But the job is not that easy when it comes to finding out the effective directories. You have to have a proper list, keep track of those you have submitted to, set your priority as to submit to directories with high pagerank first, and so on as there are thousands of directories. Submission as much as you can will no way hurt you, rather will help you, but you should preferably submit to the higher ranked ones first.
