I have recommended this site before too. I told you guys that it was a really good site where you can get free movies to download; all direct links! It still is true though. They have a free section, where they regularly keep on adding good movies to be downloaded totally free; direct links, so no waiting, slow downloads. Upto this, it is all so good.

But the bad part is, they have an upgrade option too, where you are supposed to gain access over their whole members' area for just the expense of $12, onetime. How they cheat is that, they don't really have any contents of their own. After you upgrade, you will be asked to download a Torrent download software, and later you will be taken to mininova.com to download your movies through torrent. I say WTF, downloading torrents from mininova or other sites is free anyway, and you can do the whole thing without joining Divxcrawler. So your $12 will go astray like this.

I still recommend the site for downloading free movies from their free section. Movies are regularly added, and you can download without any hassles. Thats how they draw people towards paying. They give direct download links, you start growing trust on them, and at some stage you decide to go premium by paying, and you get deceived.

So donot upgrade on that site.

I am really pissed about this. Veoh.com, which I used to recommend so vigorously (I have several posts in this very blog recommending Veoh as an excellent video streaming site), closes its door to 164 countries. I don't see any obvious reasons for this. This is total discrimination. While any one would expect it to compete with larger sites like YouTube, Veoh just crashes itself down by closing its door to the larger part of the world (well, if you don't consider USA and Europe to be the whole world).

I really get bored and irritated when people from less developed countries are discriminated, and its even worse when it happens in the net (where discrimination in terms of race, colour and nationality is less expected to happen). However, i sure understand that many of you guys are frustrated too, and may be raising our voice against this action would make them think again.

Alzheimer's is one of the leading causes of deaths throughout the world, and is the 6th most leading cause of deaths in the USA. But of course we can do something to make it come to an end. Participate in the Alzheimer's Memory Walk, which is the biggest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research and care. The walks will be held among 600 different communities, so make sure to take part in one of the walks which will be suitable (in terme of time, location) for you.

Even better, become a team captain if you think you can take more responsibilities. As the captain, you will have to motivate your team members to generate funds, look into details, and overall help to raise awareness. You can start and manage your own team; to know more details about this, click this link. Even if you don't want to be a team captain, you can still participate as a walker, or as a volunteer for the event plannings, or as a member of the local committee. Still  not possible for you? At least help by spreading the words any way possible.

I have often come up with video sharing, uploading and downloading sites before, and I have already promoted some awesome sites. Currently, I am addicted to this site; Viddiction. You can say its very similar to YouTube or Metacafe (of course, basically they all share streaming videos), but with respect to user priorities and homeliness, you must call Viddiction "unique".

One important difference is, uploading to the site is extremely easy. While we see regular members of YouTube and other streaming sites are losing interest in uploading videos because big names like CNN and Oprah Winfrey are buying featured spaces for BIG money, this site is a complete exception. Members are given the highest priorities, and they are even encouraged more by a monthly contest in which any member can win cash for videos; between $50 to $500, based on number of views (popularity points). Overall, i liked the homely environment there, and  the fact that social communication is given a high importance. So its sure that you will be making some very good friends on that site (provided you join), and can even invite your own friends to join you on that site too.
